Nuheat Membrane can replace a second layer of plywood/concrete board and reduces the risk of tile cracks caused by movement in the flooring assembly. When integrated with Nuheat Cable, the Nuheat Membrane system is a best-in-class integrated uncoupling, waterproofing, and floor heating solution. Nuheat Membrane eases the installation of Nuheat Cable by simplifying the installation process. Benefits Reduces risk of tile cracks due to subfloor movement. Acts as tile underlayment. Compatible with the Nuheat Cable floor heating system. Flexible wire spacing and heat output. Compatible with modified thinsets for tile setting. On-site flexibility. Comprehensive selection of sizes to choose from. Waterproof. Minnesota stock. Installation STEP 1 Spread a suitable amount of thinset mortar to the substrate using a trowel. STEP 2 Roll Nuheat Membrane onto the thinset mortar and press with a roller or a flat trowel. Lay down the next sheet and align it with the previous one without overlapping. Line up the pillars to facilitate the installation of the heating cable. STEP 3 Snap the Nuheat Cable into the Nuheat Membrane. STEP 4 Apply an additional layer of thinset mortar on top using a notched trowel suitable for the tile type/size. STEP 5 Install tile/stone flooring. Note: 1. Nuheat Cable resistance must be tested before, during and after installation to validate Nuheat warranties. 2. All wiring connections should be completed by a certified electrician. Technical Material: Nuheat Membrane is a polypropylene sheet that is thermo-bonded to a non-woven polypropylene fabric on the underside. It is 0.22 inches thick, 39 inches wide and weighs 840 grams/m² Operating Voltage: 120 V, 208 V, and 240 V Power Output: 10 – 15 watts per square foot depending on wire spacing Minimum Bending Radius: 0.5 in (12mm) Maximum Continuous Exposure Temperature: 194°F (90°C) Minimum Installation Temperature: 50°F (10°C) Heating Cable: 2-wire, grounded, twisted air with PVC outer jacket Cold Lead: 2-wire, 16-18 AWG plus ground braid layer; 10 ft (3m) length Posted In: Installation, Tips & How To's Share Share via Facebook Share via Twitter Share via Email Color Trends (1)Design (1)Design Trends (2)General (3)Installation (1)Kitchen (2)Tips & How To's (7) Stay Connected Sign up to receive special offers, event invites and tile trend updates.
